Hi! We’re Rob and Mel — passionate performers, educators, and proud founders of Red Music + Dance. What started as a dream in 2013 has now grown into a thriving community, impacting hundreds of young people and families across the Moreton Bay Region.

When we moved to Brisbane, we had a bold vision: to create a vibrant performing arts hub that uses music, dance, and drama as powerful tools for learning, growth, and confidence-building. With just 80 singing students, Red Music was born — and today, we’re proud to work with hundreds of children, teens, and adults at our purpose-built studio in Rothwell and in schools and early learning centres throughout the region.

Red Music + Dance is more than just a studio — it’s a family business with a heart. Every teacher on our team is fully insured, holds a current Blue Card, and has completed first aid, CPR and child protection training. Your child’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priority, and we’re committed to providing a nurturing, professional environment where creativity can thrive.

Our Team

At Red Music + Dance, we believe that great teaching is built through training, mentoring, and care. Our teaching team is structured to ensure every student receives high-quality instruction, age-appropriate guidance, and a safe, supportive learning environment — no matter which teacher they are working with.

All Red teachers, across every level, are supported through ongoing professional development and are committed to our values of excellence, wellbeing, and confidence-building.

Junior Teachers are developing educators who are training through established RTOs, Examination Boards and supported with in-house while working towards their formal teacher certification. They are carefully mentored by senior staff and follow RED’s established curriculum, lesson frameworks, and teaching standards.

Our Associate Teachers are university-trained and/or RTO teachers who are developing their teaching practice under the guidance of our senior faculty, while completing their Diploma/Bachelor Degrees.

They bring a high level of performance expertise and musical or dance training to the studio and are supported as they refine their skills as educators.

Qualified Teachers [or Coaches as we call them] are fully trained and experienced educators who hold recognised teaching qualifications and have demonstrated excellence in both performance and education.

They teach independently, lead classes and programs, and play an active role in curriculum development and student progression. Qualified Teachers also mentor Junior and Associate Teachers, helping to maintain Red’s high teaching standards.

At RED Music + Dance, our Heads of Department are senior educators and specialists who lead each discipline with expertise, vision, and care.

Each Head of Department oversees the curriculum, teaching standards, and student progression within their area of specialty. They mentor and support our teaching team, ensuring consistency, excellence, and alignment with RED’s values across every class.

Beyond their technical expertise, our Heads of Department play a vital role in nurturing confident, capable students. They ensure that every program reflects our commitment to both high-quality training and holistic education.
